Hi everyone,
We are Svetlana and Dmitry from Walloya Morring. Previously, we created BJD animals, but now we conduct preorders for BJD Grannies twice a year, while dedicating most of our time and energy to our new project, Happy Flexi Pets. In this project, we create designs for flexible toys (primarily animals) that are available as digital files in STL and 3MF formats for home 3D printing. This means that anyone with a 3D printer can purchase and print our designs—it's very convenient and promising, isn’t it?
With Halloween approaching, we started thinking about what we could create for this theme. Eventually, we came up with an unexpected idea—an art doll called Little Dark, which can hold a little cat in her hands. We created several variations of Dark and the cat, and that’s when we realized how much fun it was. This led us to create a dog, a crow, a bat, and also a friend—Little Grim. In the end, it all turned into a large collection that we named Little Dark and Her Friends.
In the photo, you can see Little Dark and her little cat. In other posts, we will share photos of her other animals and her friend, Grim. #the mechanisms#the mechanisms fanart#drumbot brian#art#digitial art#spent waaay too long trying to figure out how a robot body would move#bc humans are squishy! so much of how our movement works is based on the fact that our body parts can squish on top of each other#limb trying to move but the edge of the torso in the way? don't worry it'll just squish out of the way!#but brass doesn't squish!! i based him mostly off of ball jointed dolls#most obvious on his joints#but how his torso bends? man idk#also i had some ideas but god forbid i knew how to *draw* it#so his torso is in 3 sections (again: ball jointed doll) and then his rib section#has a back and front piece connected internally with hinges (which allows his sides to bend inwards for foward arm movement)#his shoulder blades as you can see are squares attached with hinges attached externally with hinges which allows his torso to bend back#which allows his arm a greater range of movement backwards without having 360 movable shoulder joints#1) bc carmilla probably tried to recreate human range of movements and idk who needs to hear this#but humans do not have 360 shoulder movement#2) relying on the ball joint for movement only is weak. for the strength of the attachment#2a) you have to pick between flexibility and strength when it comes to attaching 1 thing to another thing bc the more something moves-#-the less points of anchorage you have#2b) the brass of his upper arm and shoulder would constantly be rubbing against each other slowly wearing both away#which for an immortal brass maybe isn't the BIGGEST concern but i can't imagine it's very comfortable. so mitigate it#i might actually draw out a diagram of how i think Brian works. and it will be different from this drawing#bc tbh i did not put a ton of thought into it for this drawing. i would of torn my hair out#speaking of hair: brian's is made of copper wire. you ever part the hair on a doll and see bald head? yeah same situation with brian

Laurel’s claws are retractable now :)

My Mini Kiddo has taken up playing with my customized Yuan doll and while I'm still sweating bullets, she IS very gentle with him (she's 3........) and it's hilarious and cute.
Yuan has to rotate his still-limited wardrobe (I'm making pyjamas now bc Mini Kiddo wants pyjamas), drink coffee, take baths and sleep. I love watching her lmao.

i know "kids showing respect" usually means "shutting up and doing what their told", but my niece genuinely has no respect for her mother. its kinda fucked up to see, but it's my sister in law's fault; she just has no backbone, and has set no boundaries for that child
#it feels really mean to say but she genuinely doesn't#and i don't mind her being a lenient parent#i mean kids aren't little robots they're gonna fuck up and talk back and be moody#so its honestly good my SIL is flexible#but its to a fault#she'll say smth like 'i'm not going back and forth between floors with an arm load of toys for you#you're almost 8 you can grab some dolls by yourself'#and as soon as my niece pouts my SIL immediately cows and does it#and i do get it its not fun to be strict but she is her MOTHER. her job is to parent and raise her#being her friend should be a secondary concern#and again i don't think or even want her to be a super strict parent#and its not necessarily good for a child her age to be super independent#but an (nondisabled) eight year doesn't her mother in the bathroom with her yknow?#and the thing is my niece is a super smart and indepent kid! just not with her mom because her mom let's her#get away with EVERYTHING. like my SIL just has no boundaries and its gonna cause a lot of problems down the road#mickey.txt#its hard to explain if you don't see it every day but its just not a healthy dynamic#just. im the aunt and it feels like i do more parenting than she does#(which isn't true at all but there are moments where it feels like that)#(also my brother is far from a perfect parent but that's a whole other post. and my niece does respect him)#(again that feels like a nebulous thing and i promise i don't mean in sense of obedience)
